Ibis Public Sector is seeking a Director of UX Research to lead an agile research function that supports mission-critical digital products for our client.  This is a unique opportunity to shape user experience in a high-impact environment, working closely with cross-functional teams to ensure our solutions are intuitive, effective, and human-centered.

The Director of UX Research will be responsible for developing research strategies that align with business goals and championing a culture of user-centered design across the organization.

What You’ll Do
  • Develop and execute a UX research strategy tailored to the needs of a smaller, fast-moving team
  • Define and drive the long-term vision and roadmap for UX research.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional leaders and stakeholders to align research goals with business objectives.
  • Coordinate multiple research assignments against an executional roadmap, including managing timelines and ensuring user insights are gained and shared to support the program’s different lines of effort.
  • Serve as customer advocate by researching and mapping customer needs and use cases throughout a customer journey.
  • Become a trusted advisor and resource for team and client (e.g., propose best practices, connect research findings to other program lines of effort, etc.).
  • Synthesize a range of qualitative and quantitative information to formulate valuable observations, translating insights into client-specific “so what’s” that drive client action and summarized through implications and opportunities.
  • Identify knowledge gaps and proactively drive research to fill them.
  • Ensure research findings are actionable, compelling, and widely communicated.

Who You Are
  • A US Citizen and possess a Secret Security Clearance (or be eligible to obtain one).
  • 12+ years of experience in market research with substantial experience in using research for measurement or improving user experiences.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and requests simultaneously; detail-oriented with excellent follow-up, organization, and time management skills.
  • Highly motivated, self-directed & possess a driven personality capable of working within tight deadlines.
  • Demonstrates analytical thinking and how to use quantitative research to improve user experience and business decision-making.
  • Proven ability to translate findings into actionable recommendations that solve a client’s needs.
  • Ability to determine the clear, cohesive “story” in data and present the findings to the client and team.
  • Good communication, organization, and team interaction skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word).

The anticipated salary range for this position is $170,000.00-$190,000.00. Salary is based on a range of factors that include relevant experience, knowledge, skills, and other job-related qualifications.
