Ibis Public Sector is seeking a Strategic Communications Director to manage communications support for various internal and external engagements.  The Strategic Communications Director will develop, implement, and oversee strategic communication plans, including setting priorities and goals, objectives, strategies, and tactics for both internal and external initiatives.

What You’ll Do 

  • Plan and manage strategic communication strategies, including creating timelines, defining success criteria, developing key messages, and identifying effective outreach approaches. 

  • Prepare targeted briefings and presentation materials clearly outlining project goals and results for various stakeholder groups, integrating visuals, summaries, and talking points. 

  • Produce specialized advocacy content addressing external stakeholders such as congressional members, highlighting program accomplishments and impacts through detailed fact sheets, narrative success examples, and comprehensive presentation materials. 

  • Collaborate closely with the Public Affairs Office to craft press releases, official communications, media kits, and supporting documentation for media and public relations efforts. 

  • Generate engagement tools for stakeholders, both internally and externally, which encompass event support materials, analytical white papers, town hall documentation, and feedback tools. 

  • Create engaging and informative social media materials, including posts, visuals, infographics, and video content to boost digital interaction. 

  • Design response templates and supporting documents for crisis situations to enable program leadership to quickly address and manage potential inquiries. 

  • Support and facilitate industry-focused events and interactions, such as executive briefings, expert panels, and community meetings. 

  • Document and systematically organize all external communications, tracking recipient details, timestamps, and message dissemination for accountability, transparency, and archival purposes. 

  • Work with internal stakeholders to optimize communication flow, enhance networking among communicators, and improve content creation and review processes. 

  • Regularly assess and document the effectiveness of communications initiatives through detailed metrics, analytical reports, and concise summaries for leadership presentations. 

Who You Are 

  • A US Citizen with a DoD Security Clearance 

  • 10+ years of experience in developing and implementing communication strategies and plans 

  • Ability to conduct stakeholder outreach and communication 

  • Ability to process information from multiple sources with frequent engagement with client stakeholders 

  • Strong experience working with the Public Affairs Office and critical DoD stakeholder groups 

  • Knowledge of DoD prepublication and security review, Public Affairs, and Legislative Affairs processes and policies

The anticipated salary range for this position is $170,000.00-$192,500.00. Salary is based on a range of factors that include relevant experience, knowledge, skills, and other job-related qualifications.
